PFF ’12 – Two Must See Comedies

The Philadelphia Film Festival is a mix of foreign, dramatic, experimental (Holy Motor’s is one hell of a crazy film) and most importantly, independent comedies. The Comedy and Somebody Up There Likes Me are two films on the 2012 roster that more than deliver.

Somebody Up There Likes Me is a quirky, high-paced comedy that is carried by it’s ridiculousness. Moments of hilarity especially from Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation) who also helped Produce the film create a tremendously silly world where even the most ridiculous things don’t feel out of place. This film is a must see.

Philadelphia Film Festival Screenings:
10/21 – 10:10pm – Ritz Bourse
10/23 – 7:15pm – Rave Auditorium 6

The Comedy, in a different quirky light, is a film that surrounds itself with male silly. This is what I wanted from the Tim and Eric movie. Most surprisingly is the appearance of LCD Soundsystem front man James Murphy. God damn is it hilarious to see him spit beer and just partake in this hilarious treat.

Philadelphia Film Festival Screenings:
