Whose Line? Set for 10 Episode CW Return

In a place where everything is made up and the points don’t matter, there exists a group of guys who made people laugh for almost ten years. The place is actually the improv show Whose Line is it Anyway? The show ran from 1998 to 2007, starring Drew Carey, Ryan Stiles, Colin Mochrie and Wayne Brady and a guest comedian every week. When the show was canceled, there were broken hearts of improv fans all over America. Who else would could amuse the public with humor off the top of their heads?

Well, the grieving can end, as Whose Line cast member Colin Mochrie recently tweeted that the show would is set for a revival. Further updates revealed that the show will receive a 10-episode reboot order from The CW.

The only sad note for long-time fans of the show is the news that Drew Carey, producer/host/fellow improver, will not be joining the revival. According to his rep, there has been no communication regarding his involvement at all.

Taking over the role of Whose Line? host will be Aisha Tyler, voice actress on FX’s Archer and host of CBS’ The Talk. Adding a permanent female installment should make for an interesting change from the usual all male slate on the show, as well as bringing a slightly younger presence to the stage.

Hopefully in the midst of so many ridiculous reality shows, there is still space in the living rooms of America for some good ol’ improvisation. And Wayne Brady.

Whose Line coming back is great news. And with Aisha Tyler as the new host, the content is guaranteed to be great. I work at DISH with a lot of buddies who watched the show in its entirety, so they’re going to be surprised to hear the news.
